Urinary Tract Infections

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are a common problem for sexually active women. However, there are steps you can take to prevent UTIs. Here are some tips : (burning in urine)

1. Urinate before and after sexual activity : This helps to flush out bacteria that may have entered the urethra during sex.

2. Drink Plenty of Water : Drinking water helps to flush out bacteria from the urinary tract.

3. Practice Good Hygiene : Wipe from front to back after using the bathroom to prevent bacteria from the anal area from spreading to the urethra.

4. Wear Cotton Underwear : Cotton underwear allows air to circulate, which helps keep the genital area dry and free of bacteria.

5. Avoid Irritating Feminine Products : Avoid using scented soaps, powders, and douches, as they can irritate the genital area and promote bacterial growth.

6. Consider Using a lubricant : Using a water-based lubricant during sex can help reduce irritation and prevent small tears in the vaginal walls, which can increase the risk of infection.

7. Take Cranberry Supplements or Drink Cranberry Juice : Cranberry juice and supplements may help prevent UTIs by preventing bacteria from adhering to the walls of the urinary tract.

If you experience symptoms of a UTI, such as pain or burning during urination, frequent urination, or cloudy urine, it is important to see a doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment.
